Mama's Pizza
May 9  7:00 PM - Open to All
Every second Friday at Mama's Pizza
4500 E. Speedway Blvd.

Good pizza by the slice or whole. calzones, heros, salads, pastas & appetizers, too. It's the perfect place for new members to come mingle. Look for the large loud group at the back tables or on the patio when the weather permits. We usually have a Reserved sign or a stuffed owl at the table.

AJ's Wine Hour
May 10  3:15 PM - Open to All
AJ's Wine Cellar educational hour.
3:15 PM - 4:15 PM
La Encantada Shopping Center
2805 E Skyline Dr. at Campbell

AJ's Wine & Cheese tasting has something for everyone from beginner to expert. This is NOT a stuffy experience. Kevin and Joe, AJ's wine and cheese masters respectively, are highly knowledgeable without a hint of hubris. Yours truly knew nothing about wine, and now I have a few bottles at home that I'd be proud to serve my guests. Others are much further along. All seem to enjoy testing a few new wines that won't break their bank account.

Before or after the event, you can stroll around La Encantata shopping mall, or have a bite to eat. The shops, restaurants, and AJ's itself all hold new and interesting items not often seen in Tucson. If you let me know ahead of time, I'd be happy to coordinate a lunch gathering for the early attendees. For those who haven't been up Campbell in a while, the area has changed drastically; check out the galleries east of the mall.

The cost is $5 per person. Reservations required. Please RSVP to Cathy Gallagher.

Executive Committee
May 11  1:00 PM - Open to Members only
Executive Committee meets every second Sunday.

The ExComm is not just for the Executive Committee. Please attend and learn about what is being planned and share your opinions. Don't worry, no one will volunteer you to head a committee.

Any member who has a statement of an official nature to make to the ExComm should notify the LocSec in writing prior to the ExComm meeting.

All members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Until further notice, RG meetings immediately follow ExComm.

Remote Perforation SIG
May 18  11:30 AM - Open to Members only
LOCATION: Tucson Mountain Park Range - Just south of Old Tucson Studios

For those who want to 'brush up' on their marksmanship, or just exercise the right. Vent your frustrations downrange with some other intelligent gun-owners. SIG participants will get together and blast away for as long as the ammo (or the wrist) holds out.

No rental firearms or ammunition will be available onsite - bring your own firearm, ammo and targets or arrange to borrow - with adequate notice, some of us can bring a spare. While the loan of the firearm is just that - a loan - it is only common courtesy to offer to pay for the ammunition.

Unlike the indoor range, you can use rifles here, and you'll need to walk over some rough ground to post and check your targets - a good pair of shoes or boots is strongly recommended.

Appropriate safety gear (ear and eye protection) is mandatory. Gun safety instruction will also be offered - rather forcibly, if you act like you need it.

Nobody will be allowed on the line until after the safety and range briefing, so DO NOT BE LATE.

RSVP required and accepted up until day of event.

For more info, contact Duke Schechter.

Party

Lorin Wainwood has invited all Mensans to a party in his home in the Mesquite Ranch development on Houghton Road one mile north of Valencia Road.

Soft drinks (Coke and Sprite clones - regular and diet - water, and coffee) will be provided.  Those with a particular taste in drink, please bring yours.  Attendees please bring a nibble to share.  After 9:00 PM, I will personally turn the water into wine.

Seating is limited.  If you have a folding chair or two, please bring it/them.

Parking in the development is limited to cutouts in the street.

Please RSVP early to Lorin  to get a count to determine drinking preferences.

It's not Greek to us
May 28  6:00 PM - Open to All
Are you hungry for some good conversation? Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, and a private room. We will meet in the private room. New and prospective members are more than welcomed. If you can't get there by 6, don't worry. Show up when you can and we'll be there.

The Food - The generous portions are freshly prepared. Tabbouleh, Athenian chicken plate, souvlaki plate, beef, chicken and lamb gyros. Order homemade onion rings or fries to accompany hamburgers and other sandwiches. Either honey-drenched baklava or cool rice pudding makes a great pairing with thick Greek coffee or cappuccino.

Directions: Across the street on Speedway from the Loft Theater.

If an above event requests an RSVP, please contact our Membership Officer or host of the event.
